Eyelash Lift Before Care:

  1. Patch Test:

    • Required Patch Test: Ensure you have a patch test at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. A small amount of perming lotion will be applied to a section of your skin to check for any adverse reactions. This is crucial to avoid any potential reactions near the eyes.

  2. Avoid Eye Makeup:

    • Clean Lashes: Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes. Remove all eye makeup thoroughly before your appointment.

  3. Avoid Skin Treatments:

    • No Recent Treatments: Refrain from having other facial beauty treatments or using harsh skincare products around the eye area a few days before your appointment.

  4. Hydrate and Rest:

    • Hydration: Drink plenty of water and get a good night’s sleep before your appointment to ensure your skin and lashes are in the best condition.

Eyelash Lift Aftercare:

  1. Avoid Moisture:

    • Keep Lashes Dry: Refrain from getting your eyelashes wet for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Avoid swimming, steam, and saunas during this time as these can weaken the perming lotion.

  2. Gentle Handling:

    • No Rubbing or Touching: Avoid rubbing or touching your eyes to prevent irritation and damage to the lifted lashes.

    • Sleeping Position: If possible, sleep on your back to avoid putting pressure on your lashes.

  3. Sunlight Exposure:

    • Minimize Direct Sunlight: Limit exposure to direct sunlight immediately after the treatment, as this can weaken the perming lotion and affect the longevity of the lift.

  4. Product Application:

    • Wait Before Applying Makeup: Allow 24 hours before applying any mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, or other eye makeup. After this period, you can use regular mascara but avoid waterproof mascaras, as they can be harsh on the lashes.

  5. Avoid Certain Products:

    • No Oils or Harsh Products: Do not use oils, lotions, creams, shampoos, face wash wipes, or makeup remover pads on your lashes for at least 24 hours. These can interfere with the perm.

  6. Steam and Heat:

    • Avoid Heat: Steer clear of heat, steam, or sauna use for a minimum of 24 hours. While you can resume these activities after 24 hours, they may weaken the effects of the lift.

  7. Post-Treatment Care:

    • No Additional Facial Treatments: Avoid other facial beauty treatments for 24 hours to prevent any potential interference with the lash lift.

  8. Regular Maintenance:

    • Condition Lashes: Consider using a lash conditioning serum to keep your lashes healthy and prolong the lift.

  9. Monitor for Issues:

    • Report Any Issues: If you experience any unusual reactions, irritation, or discomfort, contact your beauty professional for advice.

STEP-BY-STEP TREATMENT

Providing your patch test goes smoothly, you'll be invited back to the salon at a later date to have your treatment. Your beauty professional is likely to administer your eyelash perm in a number of simple steps, as outlined below:

  1. Eyes and eyelashes will be cleansed with a non-oily make-up remover.

  2. An appropriately sized rod will be selected depending on the look you wish to achieve (bigger rods for a gentler curl).

  3. A thin strip of glue will be applied to the main body of the rod, which your beauty professional will then bend and shape to fit the curve of your eyelid snugly but comfortably. Your lashes will then be pushed upwards and secured to the rod.

  4. Once your lashes are fanned out over the curling rod without tangles or cross-overs, your beauty professional will then apply the perming lotion evenly over every lash using a brush

  5. Once coated, your eyes will then be covered with either a plastic film or a lint-free pad to generate warmth (heat speeds up the perming process).

  6. Once activated, your beauty professional will remove the perming lotion with a pad, using a gentle blotting motion.

  7. Another disposable brush will then be used to apply the fixing lotion over all the lashes.

  8. Again, a plastic film or pad will be used to cover the lashes and generate warmth. This will be left on for 10-15 minutes.

  9. After the allotted time, the fixing lotion will be removed with a pad. Your beauty professional will then gently remove the curling rods by rolling them downwards back over the lashes.

  10. A moisturising product will then be applied to sooth and cool your treated eyes.

  11. After any excess lotion is removed with damp, clean cotton wool, you'll be ready to admire your new look in the mirror.
